The SMAPE Summer Academy (Shared Mobility Action Programmes Exchange) was successfully completed, taking place from 24 to 26 June 2025 in Mytilene, on the island of Lesvos. Hosted at the welcoming Votsala Hotel, the Academy provided a dynamic setting for interregional exchange of knowledge and best practices on adapting shared mobility policies to local contexts — with a particular focus on island, rural, and tourism-affected areas.
The event was co-organised by the Regional Development Fund of the North Aegean, and the Governor of the North Aegean Region, Mr. Kostas Moutzouris, honoured the Academy with his presence and participation.
Throughout the three-day Academy, participants took part in workshops, field visits, and policy discussions aimed at exchanging experiences and strengthening local strategies for sustainable mobility. Key topics included seasonal mobility challenges, socially fair pricing, ride-sharing, mobility hubs, as well as innovative solutions such as shared electric bike stations, all within a creative and collaborative environment.
The Summer Academy brought together representatives from eight European countries — Belgium, Norway, Italy, Spain, Greece, Germany, Slovenia, and Romania — reinforcing the project's transnational dimension and European outlook.
