Τhe North Aegean Regional Development Fund, in cooperation with the Region of North Aegean and the University of West Attica, successfully concluded the technical meeting of the local stakeholders’ network within the framework of the SMAPE (Shared Mobility Action Programmes Exchange) project under the Interreg Europe Programme. The meeting took place on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, at the Meeting Hall of the Regional Unit of Chios.
During the meeting, strategies and proposals were presented to promote micromobility in the Regional Unit of Chios and the smaller islands, aiming to reduce private car use and strengthen sustainable mobility options. Particular emphasis was placed on the potential establishment of shared mobility stations (micromobility hubs), designed to support both the daily transportation needs of residents and the mobility demands of visitors during the tourist season.
