EUFOFINET

The project aims in the intensification of the role of local Self-Government in the sector of prevention of forestal fires and forest conservation,through  transport in Northern Aegean of existing methods  & good practices.

Project Summary

The object of the project EUFOFINET constitutes of the protection of forests from forestal fires. The project is considered as continuity of the project INCENDI.
Thus EUFOFINET as a project of capitalization of good practices it aims in the intensification of the role of Local Government in the sector of prevention of forestal fires and forest protection, through transport of existing good practices in the following sectors:

  • the confrontation of first blow. Meaning the early tracking of the fire and the right management of first minutes immediately afterwards the tracking of the phenomenon
  • the activation of local societies and the right utilization of land means (manpower as well as equipment)
  • the utilization of new technologies and telematics in the particular sector
  • the re-establishment of burned forestal regions

The work plan of the project aims:

  • in the exchange of good practices aiming at the improvement of the national and regional policies that are applied for the prevention and the confrontation of forestal fires
  • in the adoption of a common plan of action
  • in the creation of a trans-European network for the prevention and the confrontation of forestal fires
